    请问如何 编辑rootfs.tar.gz 解压后以后里面好多文件?
    要编辑哪个?然后怎么打包回去 rootfs.tar.gz呢?

    谢谢!

I can’t read Chinese. But thanks. I will try to find someone to help me translate that page. So is that the instructions or is that the finished image to install?

I showed it to a couple of people and they couldn’t find the download link either. I found links for something called the ‘Nami Pan Robot’ but that was it. Could you please give me some more details about how to do this? Currently I have a very slow Smartq 5 that runs the original OS in Chinese. I can’t do a lot with it.

I installed the Nami Pan robot. It looks like flashget. then i tried the download links and nothing worked. firefox needed an addon. then it didn’t work. IE blocked it. i unblocked it. then it didn’t work.

Thanks. It works. And it looks great! I look forward to the updates. I wish I could do something to help. Thanks so much for putting this together. The Ubuntu/LXDE OS was a big disappointment on this device. But seeing how well Android works, I think everyone will want one of these.

btw, SD doesn’t work either. and I can’t figure out how to turn it off…

    it says:
“how to turn off Q5 in android?
    1.settings–>SD card& phone storage –> factory data reset –> reset phone –>
    draw unlock pattern–> erase everything”

I don’t want to reset the device or erase everything. I just want to power down when i’m not using it. Is that the only way?

    June 4th, 2009 at 00:15 | #15

yes, don;t worry , it will not harm your device ,because android can’t not access to SD card

    June 5th, 2009 at 07:53 | #16

    Don’t worry about that !

“erase everything” not really to erase everything ,

    It only to shutdown Q5.

i don’t have sound working on my android smartq 5. is it the same with you? also, one of the games (i forgot which) wouldn’t let me exit. i had to restart using the little button on the side…

how does the windows CE compare to the android and mer installs? has anyone tried all 3?

  18. admin
    June 7th, 2009 at 09:46 | #18

yes, it’s a beta version . and all the software are not special designed for Q5 , i found it from G1 forum , so some may not work well.

I didn’t install Android myself. i asked a Chinese friend to read the instructions over and explain them to me. He came back 10 minutes later with the device running Android. The instructions came from this forum. I was having trouble understanding them myself. I hope when the bugs are sorted out it will be as easy as installing Mer. Sorry I couldn’t help…
