I found the following web site that claims to have a faster video driver but I have no idea how to implement it. Can it be done with SQ7 software v4 or v5 or do you have to run Mer(which I am told is dangerous for SQ7 at the moment).

be aware, it's an X11 video driver, it will improve performance of the X11 wondow manager under linux but not the video playback.
